Love it

Made a batch of tamales a few days ago and oh boy did it make a lot. Ate most of them. My daughter loved them. I gave a lot away to friends as well
Pros
- I love the masa spreader. It helped spread my masa evenly over the husks
Cons
- The husks varied in sizes. Some were huge, some were very thin. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Just had had to keep an eye on the cooking a bit more

My 1st attempt at making tamales. Mex grocer had everything that I needed. The tamale spreader is the best! Made the process quick ,easy and the filing was evenly spread. The tamales came out beautifully and delicious.

Tamale Spreader

I have the privilege of working with some of the best tamale cooks in the world, and they all use the spoon method of spreading masa on the corn husk, which can be fast for an experienced tamale maker, but if you're inexperienced at this, you should give this a try, and only this one. There are many stories about the masa spreaders out there, many of which are flat on the bottom, well if you want to spend a long time learning how to use one, that's ok, but you should bypass the thousand or so tamales and use this one, the ridges help keep the masa at the perfect thickness on the husk. There is a learning curve, but not bad, it's all the angle that you hold the spreader.

Large full husks, without a bunch of splits. This was my first time making tamales. The spreader was a great help. The only way it could have been better, they would have come already filled and ready to eat.
