Made from pasteurized cow milk, it is incredibly mild in flavor, lite in texture and curds, moderately salty, and robustly creamy. No longer called la cubeta on the package BUT...

So at my local mexican grocer this is no longer called la cubeta but it is still in every way delicious. I always liked los altos cheeses over any other queso fresco but this one absolutely takes it to another level. Like another reviewer said, dangerously good. So easy to finish a whole pound.

Sweet, milky, buttery, just sublime. Horrible for diets! You have to laugh at the "resealable package. That's assuming there's ANY LEFT!

We had friends over for Cinco de Mayo and we added slices of Queso Fresco to the guacamole. It was delicious! a great complement for this an many other dishes. I also like to add it to soups in little squares.

I grew up in Mexico loving queso fresco because it's very light and yet very flavorful. This goes really well inside any kind of taco, or on top a toast for a snack, or with crackers. I tried La Cubeta for the first time last week and I couldn't stop eating it until it was all gone! Like it's name says it, it's really fresh!

Queso Fresco is the most traditional cheese in Mexico, and Los Altos is the best Queso Fresco that I have tasted here. When I want things to be fresh and taste like they did when my mother and grandmother prepared my meals back home, I eat Queso Fresco. This is very special for me.

People that grow up in Mexico become experts in queso fresco because we eat it all the time. I never imagined I would have in the US the best one I've ever tasted! The flavor of La Cubeta is totally authentic and truly fresh. This 100% natural fresh cheese is sublime. Is a great snack and amazing as a complement on traditional mexican dishes.
