Ground Pasilla Pasilla pronounced [pah-SEE-yah] means "little raisin" in Spanish because of its similarity to a raisin. They are a smoked, long, thing, dark dried chiles which are quite hot. The dried, ground powder is made from these chiles that originate from Guanajuato, Jalisco and Zacatecas. Pasilla is the dried version of the long and narrow chilaca pepper. They have an earthy flavor and are used in sauces like mole and are often combined with fruits and are excellent served with seafood, stews, lamb, fennel, honey, mushrooms, duck, garlic, or oregano. Release the full flavor of these dried chiles, by boiling them in water for about 10 minutes or until soft. One way of preparing this type of chile is to stuff it with cheese and deep fry (chile relleno). Pasilla chiles are known as Chile Pasilla, Pasilla Negro and Chile Negro.

Polvo de chile pasilla molido. Pasilla es un chile que parece pasa. Son chiles ahumados, largos, delgados, oscuros y secos son bastante picosos. El Chile Pasilla molido esta hecho de estos chiles que son originarios de Guanajuato, Jalisco y Zacatecas. El Chile pasilla es una version seca del chile Chilaca largo y flaco. Tienen un sabor terroso y se usan en salsas como mole y usualmente se combinan con frutas y son excelentes servidos con mariscos, guisados, cordero, hinojo, miel, champinones, pato, ajo y oregano. Libere el sabor de estos chiles secos, hirviendolos en agua durante unos 10 minutos o hasta que esten suves. Una manera de preparar este tipo de chile es rellenarlo con queso y sofreirlo. El Chile Pasilla es tambien conocido como Chile Pasilla, Pasilla Negro y Chile Negro.
